Calendars
This list is the same set of sources as the footer on the weekly page. Always confirm times and cancellations on the original site before you go.

How it works
This is a small, free pipeline. There is no newsletter company and no paid scraper. Once a week it reads public calendars, builds a page, and emails people who asked for it.
-
Sunday noon Eastern.
A GitHub Action is scheduled at 16:00 and 17:00 UTC so it fires at 12:00pm in America/New_York whether daylight saving is on or not. It only sends when local time is actually noon.
-
Read this week's window.
The digest covers Sunday through Saturday. Each source in a manual town list has its own scraper, because village, library, and community sites all use different calendar software.
-
One list.
Duplicate programs (the same title at the same start time) are collapsed. Library listings win over village listings, and both win over community roundups like Oyster Bay Today.
-
Website and RSS.
Netlify rebuilds a static site at lievents.sammy.pizza with this week's events, filters, and an RSS feed. You can subscribe or unsubscribe with a form on the site.
-
Email.
Gmail sends one BCC message to the signup list (minus unsubscribes). The email is the same week of events, with a link back to the website.
Netlify also rebuilds the site when the code changes, so the public page can refresh without waiting for Sunday.
What this is not
- It is not an official village or library calendar. Those sites are the source of truth.
- Some sites block automated readers. The Massapequa Park village calendar sits behind Cloudflare and is often missing from the digest; the Massapequa Library calendar usually still comes through.
- Signup volume is limited by Netlify Forms on the free plan (signups and unsubscribes, not the weekly send).
